Our commitment to develop quality group homes comes at a price. We provide a high staff to resident ratio which allows us to run teaching programs throughout the day. Direct care staff is our most significant expense. We are confident that our well-trained staff and effective programs contribute to our residents' successful transitions from state institutions and locked units to our homelike environment. Historically the funding granted to social service providers is inadequate. We must subsidize our budget to insure quality care. Each donation is designated toward resident needs and specific capital repairs and improvements. Donations toward resident clothing and recreational outings are always welcome. There is no allowance in our revenue to replace furniture or fund the ongoing repairs made necessary by frequent property destruction. We must rely on the generosity of the community for additional financial support. This system of care is less expensive and far superior in quality than confinement in a state hospital. Autistic individuals are able to live in the same community as their families, instead of living many miles away. The Promising Futures program provides these special people daily opportunities to enjoy the common life experiences we all take for granted. Won't you please help us?
