Promising
Futures, Inc. is a
private nonprofit
organization formed
in 1988 by a group
of concerned parents
and
professionals.
Our mission is to
develop quality
programs and
services for
individuals severely
handicapped by
autism and related
disorders. We
operate group homes
that provide
specialized care and
services for up to
six individuals in
each home who can
not survive in a
less structured
setting.
Recognizing that the
rate of
institutionalization
for those challenged
by Autism far
exceeds that of
other mild or
moderate
disabilities, we
commit ourselves to
programs that
provide a quality
alternative for
families.
Parents and
family members
confronted with
autism are often
unable to cope with
the intense behavior
problems associated
with this
disability.
Through our
residential services
we have the
opportunity to make
a significant impact
on language growth,
development of
self-care skills and
reduction of
behaviors that are
extremely
devastating to the
individual and
family
members.
Families continue to
be involved with
their children into
their adult life
through monthly
gatherings and an
open door
policy. We
believe
parents/guardians
play an important
role in the success
of each individual's
program.
